It is also considered the most holy city of Iran, because it houses the shrine of Imam Reza who is very dear to Muslims around the world. Mashad carpets have elegant medallions on floral fields, with color schemes of red or blue. They sometimes copy classic Kashan patterns, and sometimes all-over Herati details which may be marketed as Khorassan. |
